What is Scintilliarium?
Scintilliarium is a storehouse of serial fiction, with multiple series in progress (DMIC and SEIA with LP chomping at the bit).
Oh did you mean the name? It’s a purely fantastical name, and it means just what the subtitle suggests — storehouse of sparkling things. I claim full responsibility and all the blame for creating such a word!
Serial Fiction? What’s That?
Simply put, serial fiction is fiction that progresses serially, that is, one bit after another. Serial fiction was once serialized in newspapers, where readers would read a new installment every Friday or so. Charles Dickens and L.M Montgomery are examples of excellent serial fiction writers.
Serial fiction continues the story from the previous installment. It uses foreshadowing to intimate what is coming and references events which have happened before. Not everything resolves at the end of the episode. The story spans many installments, as the characters grow and change. It is this ongoing story, three-dimensional characters, and sense of realism that draw people in.
